Henrico & Goochland: Boil Advisory is Lifted!
The water crisis may be over, but we know you still have questions. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we have been seeing:
Cloudy water is caused by air in the pipes and is not harmful. In addition to air from any pressure changes, air bubbles can also be caused by the freezing temperatures. Once all the air dissipates in your water, the water’s clarity will return.
A more potent chlorine smell is normal following a boil water advisory. The chlorine levels from both the Henrico Water Treatment Facility and the City of Richmond water plant have been tested and are at safe levels for consumption.
All Henrico residents are encouraged to flush their pipes for ten minutes, per the Virginia Department of Health. Begin with the highest faucet in your home and work your way down.
